Abstract. Split application of 150 kg N·ha-1 Entec 26 caused highest marketable yield of early leek. Leek plants fertilized in split doses of Entec 26, contained lower amount of N-NO3 in comparison to its preplant application.

Key words: Entec 26, ammonium nitrate, leek, yield, biological value

The effect of Entec 26 – stabilized nitrogen fertilizer
on yielding of early leek

Summary

Data of the field study indicate that Entec 26 applied at split doses showed higher influenced in early leek production than single Entec 26 pre-plant dose or ammonium nitrate application. Highest differences (by 6.4 and 5.3% respectively) were found when 150 kg N per ha was applied. For early leek production, irrespective of kind of the fertilizer the optimum nitrogen dose was 150 kg N per ha. Application of 75 or 225 kg N·ha-1 decreased early leek yield. Leek plants fertilized in split doses of Entec 26 contained lower amount of N-NO3 by 50% and single application by 42.7% in comparison to those supplied with ammonium nitrate.
